Shake the tree of life…

This song for me is about dreaming of a better life when the life we have right this minute is exactly what we are dreaming for.  Sometimes all it takes is a few tweaks of our fixed perspective and looking at things, life, the tree of life from a different point of view to see the true beauty of the now.

If the day is dark, shake the tree of life

If the shaking doesn’t work, climb the tree and look down from above

Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree
Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree

Waiting your time, dreaming of a better life
Waiting your time, you’re more than just a wife
You don’t want to do what your mother has done
She has done
This is your life, this new life has begun
It’s your day – a woman’s day
It’s your day – a woman’s day

Turning the tide, you are on the incoming wave
Turning the tide, you know you are nobody’s slave
Brothers and sisters
Who can hear all the truth in what you say
They can support you when you’re on your way
It’s your day – a woman’s day
It’s your day – a woman’s day

Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree
Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree
Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree

There’s nothing to gain when there’s nothing to be lost
There’s nothing to gain if you stay behind and count the cost
Make the decision that you can be who you can be
You can be
Tasting the fruit come to the Liberty Tree
It’s your day – a woman’s day
It’s your day – a woman’s day

Changing your ways, changing those surrounding you
Changing your ways, more than any man can do
Open your heart, show him the anger and pain, so you heal
Maybe he’s looking for his womanly side, let him feel

You had to be so strong
And you do nothing wrong
Nothing wrong at all
We’re gonna to break it down
We have to shake it down
Shake it all around

Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree
Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree
Souma Yergon, Sou Nou Yergon, We are shakin’ the tree

Hey You, Skywalker!

Yes I’m talking to you, you are the Chosen One. You don’t believe me do you? I guess its easy to understand why you can’t see it, probably thinking “QUICK get this person a straight jacket QUICK!!!”. Breathe deeply and listen for you are the Chosen One, you might not want to believe it, you might not want to accept it, you might think you are not ready for it but either way you are exactly that, the Chosen One.

Each of us, you and I and the person near by are the Chosen One’s, we are all born with a purpose, with a destiny but it is only you who can choose whether to follow it or not, no one else can do that but you. Glow or dying embers in the dust what we leave behind is our legacy, the lessons we learn keep us on the right paths in life forever giving us that opening to accept ourselves and our destinies.

Each bend, fork or turn in the road leads us to where we have to go, each event happens in order to prepare us for what is next to come, sometimes a conjunction of many all prepare us for a greater event be it good or bad. Sit back now and look at who you are, who you really are and tell me, would you be any different if those things had not happened? Would you be nicer or meaner to others? Would you be more giving or would you be more selfish? I can not answer these questions for you, these questions are for you to answer alone, each and every one of you.

When you think about whether you would be different does it not lead you to the fact that perhaps, just perhaps, then that everything indeed happens for a reason in order to enable you to be who you are today. Your core, your inner being, what does it tell you? Do you have a really strong desire to do something, perhaps it is your passion or a yearning deep within you? Do you ever feel something pulling you in a certain direction and the longer you fight it the stronger it pulls?

Each of us are the Chosen Ones, each of us has a purpose from doing the basic things to waking up a nation, from educating the young, educating the old, building things, breaking things down. Not one thing is unimportant no matter what it is, if the water carriers didn’t walk to the river each day, travelling miles on end, how would the village survive? If there were no people to make bricks or build houses, what would we live in? If there were no scientists how would we have those all important cures and discoveries? Our purpose no matter how small we think it is or how menial plays a big part in the greater scheme of things.

Whats your purpose, what’s your destiny? Only you can answer that one, only you can fight against it or accept its pull for it is within all of us.

Not one person is insignificant, not one person is forsaken, we are all the Chosen Ones, we are all young Skywalkers…

Defining Moments… its up to us

Defining moments… how would one begin to describe these in ones life? We have all had them, they either shape us or break us but ultimately it is up to us what we do with them. We can either learn from them or wallow in the fact that these moments happened to us.

So often we can get so wrapped up in the moment that we forget the lessons learned and the strength that we once had within us. One’s defining moments can be that of good and bad, a mixture of both that ultimately make us who we are, shape our behaviour and alter our opinions. So often we have bad experiences and our reactions spiral out of control and instead of looking at things as they are we go on a blame game induced by over analysing.

The blame game is often easier to handle, the easy way out and I don’t say this lightly. It is far easier to blame someone else or a situation than to look within yourself and grow from it, far easier to wallow that look deeply, feel, go through the motions and deal with the situation as it stands. No I am not coping out nor am I saying that it is an easy feat to take the hard road, not saying I am a pro at it either but ultimately what it really is… is a choice, a choice that only we can make of how we handle these moments.

Our lives are shaped by the events that happened within but how it is shaped is up to us, only we have that power to do with those moments as we will… only we can decide if it will break us, only we can decide if we will grow from it…

I know at times as you read this I may seem cold and distant, I may seem matter of fact or even like I know the facts not the experience, this is not the case. In my time I have been called a raging bull in the night never giving up the fight but I understand both sides of the fence for I have been on both…

… just another rambling yet again…

The day after tomorrow

As I sit here tonight and the thought crosses my mind of how we always worry about what tomorrow may bring, often to the point were we stress and worry about it so much that we forget to live the day at hand. How often do we sit and think, over analyze and stress about the things we do not know will happen, the things we think may happen and may never happen. We tend to swing in the balance so very often, between living in the past and then in a future we do not know, perhaps this is so we do not think of our current situations as they stand…?

I feel that none of the options available to us are ultimately right except maybe for the one of “living for the now”, sound strange? Probably but I have lived in the past, lived in the future I do not know and now trying to get back to living the life I have today. So many people live in the past they had, be it good or bad, they over analyze it, go over and over the events that took place to the point that it breaks their spirit, their self-esteem and their outlook. The same goes for those who stress about the future, as I have said before, they stress as I have done, on things that are out in our immediate control – in the end driving us sick with worry, stress and torment… what is the point?

Living in the now can be just as scary, trust me I know, but the difference is you actually have more control on the now, it is the decisions that you make today that directly effect the tomorrow. You can feel these decisions, deal with the wrong ones and enjoy the right ones today….

So my question to you is… tomorrow you might be dead… which option is the right one for you?

… just another rambling by a wondering soul…

Life’s decisions…

So often we make decisions that are life changing ones… there are two types of people out there, those who make the decisions in an instant because it feels right and their gut says do it and then those that can take up to years to make a single decision… buy a house, change job, move country, start a family.

Which is better?

Those who decide on a gut feeling or an instinct live more, they see more and experience more fore they hold the belief that you only live once and you have to enjoy it, you have to live life not waste it worrying about things that may never happen… they deal with the consequences as they happen… if they happen…

Those that contemplate, contemplate and contemplate more and more ten to one make the right decision in the end but then it is not a certainty either, not a sure thing if it is the correct one. The decisions that they need to make keep them up at night, cause them stress sometimes beyond words and comprehension, they tend to over analyze the situations to come… all this leading to the point where they can not make a decision because the pressure is too much.

Which way is better I do not know, yes I know which one I am, what I do and how I do it… but which is better is the question… Quite possibly a balance between the two? Perhaps not?

I don’t know … the one thing I do know is that I choose not to be the second type, not saying I have not sat for months with a decision in my lap, but life is full of decisions and I choose the first one :-)

The choice is yours, this is your life, this is your chance to do what you want with it, to live it the way you want to… if something feels good to you, makes sense to you and your instinct overrides all else… go for it, don’t hold back, bite the bullet and deal with the consequences later, live more fore you never know tomorrow you may be dead and then what…?
